Affirmation
Reprogramming, auto suggesting, oaths and declarations are all words to describe affirmations. I strongly believe in the power of affirmations. A good affirmation is an encouraging word that allows me to accept what I want and approve of the results. Consider a few affirmations like: I am who I say I am, I can do all things, and I am rich! Both Muhammad Ali and Claude Bristol have been known to say, “It is the repetition of affirmations that leads to belief. And once that belief becomes a deep conviction, things begin to happen.” Ali also said, “I figured if I said it enough, I would convince the world that I was the greatest.” It isn’t enough to say it once or even twice, you must keep saying it. There are tons of books on affirmations and how best to commit them to your subconscious mind. I have found that in some cases I need to continually repeat the same affirmation day to day or whenever the need arises. At other times I find posting a daily affirmation on the mirror or at the door will encourage not only me, but those around me.
Affirm this:
I am me and me is who I want to be, You may tease me or misunderstand me, but I am going to keep on being me. I am special from the day of my creation, a jewel in my own station. I love me from my eyes to the color of my skin, from hands to my toes my personality shows, I am me and me is who I want to be.
You will find this affirmation along with others in my writing journal project entitled, Journal of My Reflections. The journal project encourages affirmations and writing. 75% of its users report a POSITIVE influence in self-esteem. Our newest project from the journal series entitled Mapping the Vision will progress the user from writing to include visualization. Until next time I encourage you to be inspired. We may not all be able to “float like a butterfly and sting like a bee” like Ali, but we can go the distance. Affirm: I can go the distance.
